I want to let you all know that I have successfully kept up with the 10 minutes of stretching every morning. I am so proud of myself because I really want to create a habit and I think I am on the correct path to it.  The past week has been really nice, rolling out of bed, stretching for ten minutes, and of course, drinking a cup of coffee after.

I wouldn’t say I am more flexible yet, but maybe I can reach a couple more centimeters towards my toes (which is pretty great). But I do think I am creating more of a habit, reminding myself to stretch in the morning and after a workout. I remind myself that stretching after a workout is important because it will decrease the chances of an injury.

Now I feel like a lot of us are all working from home, or now taking school from home which can lead to a lot of hours sitting in a row. This challenge that I set for myself next week is to every hour, make sure I get up and stretch! I found this helpful video on YouTube where UC San Diego Health put out that has three stretches to help break the constant sitting. This is important to do so because when sitting for hours our bodies become stiff, the little movements throughout the day will help keep us feeling a little more limber throughout the day.

Next week I will keep you posted on how I did! I am a little nervous because I definitely get into the grove of sitting down for the day and only getting up for water or a snack.
