This past week in class we had our first ed camp. This is participant-driven, and we came up with different topics to discuss, and we were able to leave each group discussion as we please to really maximize the amount of learning.
This was such a great idea! I had the chance to ‘pop’ into two different groups where we discussed how to disrupt the gender binary, and teachers/career path. The first group was something very new to me, and it sparked more conversation after to follow.
I found myself in the first group for most of the time, and looking back I wish I popped into a couple more groups to really have the full exposure of an ed camp. But at the same time, I was really enjoying the conversation about disrupting the binary and wanted to learn more about it.
